Cheap mass tourism is becoming a thing of the past, it will be replaced by a new type of travel

The market of luxury tourism is growing, while the share of mass cheap “budget” is shrinking – such data are global studies. First of all, the reason for this is the skyrocketing price of fuel and other resources. At the same time, rich people are not afraid of high prices, so the demand in the “luxury” segment of tourism ignored the 30-50% increase in the price of the tour product, tour operators emphasize.

At the same time, tourists in the “budget” price category are no longer attracted to vacations that have become more expensive. As a result, according to analysts, we are witnessing a gradual retreat into the past of cheap mass tourism and a return to tourism for the chosen ones, as it was at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

According to a report by research firm Global Market Insights (GMI), the luxury tourism market is worth more than $15 billion and is on the rise. It is expected to grow by 16% by 2022 “thanks to a new generation of well-educated and discerning travelers.” Hotel investments in the “luxury” sector will also increase by 17%.

In Europe, according to experts, there is also an increase in demand for luxury tourism, in particular, for Turkish hotels. According to market experts, the demand for premium hotels in Turkey has increased two to three times. “A lot of luxury hotels are already on the way, it is especially difficult with places for the next dates. Or there are rooms of completely elite categories,” said a representative of the Coral Travel franchising agency. In luxury hotels, occupancy is already 90%.
