An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred this morning on the large Greek island of Crete, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported, Reuters reports.
The institute, located in France, reported that the epicenter was outside the island and the epicenter was two kilometers underground.
TARS reports that the earthquake occurred at 7:13 a.m. local time with the epicenter 118 km west of the city of Heraklion.
So far, there have been no reports of material damage or casualties.
