US Reddit user WowCoolFunnyHAHA described how he was once at a restaurant with his family in Germany. And when it came time to close the account, they were unpleasantly surprised to learn that the drinking water they ordered was paid.
The man said that he was in Germany with 20 of his relatives, and in the restaurant, most of his relatives preferred drinking water as a drink. Closing the account, the family noticed that the cost of one glass of water was five euros. As a result, I had to pay about 150 euros for water.
According to the user, they decided that the drink would be free because that’s what happens in American establishments.
“And it was not even bottled water, but just tap water,” the young man concluded.
“For me, this is always a real culture shock when traveling. Where I live, if the institution does not provide the client with free water, it can cost them their alcohol license,” wrote one user.
