Albanian gangs skillfully rob the houses and apartments of sleeping people in the Greek resort village of Paralia Ofrinio, entering the houses through the bathroom windows, “Telegraf” reports.
The village is a favorite holiday destination for Bulgarian tourists, as it is located just 290 km from Sofia in northern Greece, 100 km east of Thessaloniki and 60 km west of Kavala.
Dozens of Bulgarians even own real estate there – apartments and houses, and they continue to buy. Construction in the resort is booming due to buying interest.
The problem with Albanian thieves in Paralia Ofrinio has existed for many years, but this summer their new trick was noticed – it is not known how the northern thieves manage to get into the house through small open windows.
In the summer, they steal laptops, money, jewelry, and other expensive equipment. In winter, when it is almost deserted, all equipment is transported to houses and apartments. There is a security company in the village, but it cannot prevent thefts, local residents and tourists complain.
