Aydos Fortress is notable for its Byzantine architecture, as well as the fact that it was from here in 1453 that the army of Sultan Mehmet II began the conquest of Constantinople.

The fortress with an area of 26,000 sq. m was once located on a strategically important trade route to Anatolia. It is built on a hill with a height of 325 m.

The Sultan Reserve occupies 127,000 sq. m in the Asian part of Istanbul. It has hiking trails, bike paths, sports grounds, and view terraces.
