The tourist warned about a popular way of deceiving tourists in Turkish stores – according to her, sellers come up with prices for goods on the go. She talked about this on her personal blog.
As the author explained, tourists in Turkey quickly get used to low prices and often go to the checkout without knowing the cost of the goods. However, when paying, buyers are called inflated prices “like in Europe.”
In this regard, the tourist revealed a simple way to avoid fraud – for this, it is enough to specify the cost of goods in advance.
“They concluded that some cunning Turks argue as follows: if you don’t ask the price, then it doesn’t matter,” she suggested.
The traveler also added that similar situations can be encountered in a cafe when waiters bring menus without indicating the cost of dishes.
