One of the latest victims of the aerial closure of the sky and the confiscation of leased aircraft from Russian airlines was the Ural Airlines liner, which failed to leave the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt. According to Egyptian media, the cancellation of flights and the delay of the liner was carried out “in connection with the contact of a foreign landlord with the Egyptian aviation authorities.”

“The landlord sent a request to the Egyptian aviation authorities to stop the plane, and Eurocontrol (European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation) did not issue a permit to fly over its territory until the plane is returned,” Egyptian media reported. They also note that part of the flight takes place over the territory of Cyprus – but moreover, earlier, two Ural Airlines planes returned safely to Russia. But another liner was unlucky.
According to Egyptian sources, tourists who could not leave for Russia were sent back to hotels. Their delivery methods are agreed upon, but this may take time.
It will be recalled that Rosaviatsia has officially recommended that Russian carriers close their flights abroad to avoid confiscation of liners by lessors. In addition, it is desirable to do so by March 8. Read more in the article “DIP” “Rosaviatsia has ordered all Russian airlines to cancel flights abroad.”
And Ural Airlines itself has been forced to completely cancel foreign programs. Including tourist – so, according to ATOR, the carrier has completely canceled flights to the currently available Turkey and Thailand. Until May 31, flights Vladivostok – Phuket – Vladivostok, Irkutsk – Phuket – Irkutsk and Ekaterinburg – Phuket – Ekaterinburg were canceled. The reason is the bet made by the airline’s management on leasing airliners.
