Turkey’s tourism is anxiously monitoring the situation in the places of potential “tourist suppliers”, and now after the war in Ukraine, its attention has switched to another part of the globe: with increasing anxiety, Turkey is watching the risk of a new world war, which may be provoked by the situation between China and Taiwan. The fact is that the day before the first “combat clash” took place there. This is what the local media called the first warning shots fired by the Taiwanese army at the Chinese UAV, which continued its flight over the Taiwanese island of Erdan, despite all warnings. The whole point is that if the “commotion” starts there, the demand for tourist loans will instantly fall all over the world because tourists will simply be afraid to go somewhere, which means that such a war will inevitably affect Turkish tourism as well.
Taiwanese media reported that the Kinmen Defense Command (DRC) of the Taiwanese military detected Chinese civilian UAVs flying over Dadan, Erdan, and Shi islands and warned them by firing flares. It was stated that after the shots were fired, three Chinese UAVs headed toward the Chinese city of Xiamen.
However, another Chinese drone later entered the airspace of Erdan Island and was warned according to procedures. Since the aircraft ignored the first warning, a “warning fire” was made with the use of warheads. Taiwan’s command “will remain vigilant and closely monitor the situation,” the sources added.
However, let’s remind you that Turkey has recently had a similar nuclear accident nearby – so it may “catch fire” even closer. Thus, recently Cyprus, beloved by European tourists, almost turned out to be the center of a “tense confrontation” between Turkey and Greece. It has already reached the point of air defense systems at planes, and the mass media have already “spread the word” about the launched missiles and even the downed plane. Turkey intends to raise issues with NATO regarding the August 23 incident, when the Greek military caught Turkish F-16 fighter jets “on the radar” of Greek S-300s, which are Russian-made anti-aircraft missile systems, located in Cyprus. According to Greece, the fighter jets entered the country’s airspace. According to Turkey, the F-16 fighter jets flew as part of solving NATO’s tasks over the Aegean Sea. Read details at this link.
