EgyptAir national airline flight MS 202 departed from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport to Luxor International Airport on Wednesday morning, marking the first flight after a 6-year hiatus.
This flight will continue to operate once a week for a flat ticket price of EGP 1,800 per round trip, including taxes.
The opening of this line happened as part of the efforts of the Egyptian state to provide an integrated tourism product that combines beach and recreational tourism with cultural tourism. Thus, tourists can visit more than one place while in Egypt, enriching their tourism experience by connecting the cities of the Nile Valley to coastal tourist cities through domestic flights connecting all tourist governorates.
The plane took off at 7:00 am from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, with 110 tourists and Egyptians on board.
On Wednesday evening, he returned to Sharm el Sheikh again, in line with tourist programs, giving them the opportunity to enjoy visits to museums and archaeological sites in Luxor, in addition to giving them more opportunities to explore the city.
It is worth noting that the operation of this route was agreed upon during a meeting between Khaled El-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, a few days ago to discuss a number of issues contributing to the development of tourism in Egypt.
This air route is operated for the first time since December 2015. This route was launched at the request of the private tourism sector, the Egyptian Tourism Federation and the Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETTA).
It is worth noting that the Minister of Civil Aviation was interested in providing discounted prices for incoming flights to various tourist destinations, at EGP 2,150 for Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Taba, and EGP 2,450 for Marsa Alam and Aswan.
