Thailand simplifies entry into the country from May 1

The Thai government has decided to significantly simplify the entry into the country for foreigners.

So, from May 1, vaccinated tourists are no longer required to book a hotel for one night and undergo PCR testing. They are advised to do a rapid (ATK) test on their own during their stay in Thailand and if they have symptoms of the disease.

The Thailand Pass requirement remains in place, but now only insurance covering $10,000 and a COVID-19 vaccination certificate are required.

Unvaccinated tourists will still have to go through quarantine and do a PCR test on the fourth or fifth day of their stay in the country. But they will also have the opportunity to enter Thailand without quarantine, provided that they upload the PCR test result made 72 hours before the trip to the Thailand Pass system.

All decisions announced today by the Thai government will only come into effect upon publication in the Royal Government Gazette.
