Saudi Arabia has said it will allow people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend sporting events at 40 percent stadiums starting May 17 as the kingdom promotes its immunization campaign.
The Ministry of Sports said in a statement to state media that, as an exception, vaccinated fans will be allowed to participate in the qualifying match for the World Cup in Asia between the teams of Saudi Arabia and Palestine on Tuesday in the capital Riyadh.
According to Reuters, access will be allowed for people with “immune” status in the mobile phone application Tawakkalna, launched by the Saudi authorities last year to track cases of coronavirus.
