On Friday, a Russian reconnaissance plane briefly violated Swedish airspace. This was reported by representatives of the Ministry of Defense.
The incident occurred while the Scandinavian country was considering an application to join NATO after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to AFP.
“Russia’s An-30 violated Swedish airspace on Friday night,” the Swedish Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Department officials monitored and documented the incident.
