The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation increased by 20,393 per day. Only in Moscow there are 7,916 of them. In the capital, a new maximum of deaths was recorded – 98 (in Russia 601). Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,323,757 people have been infected with COVID-19 in the city. Such data are provided by the Operational Headquarters for Infection Control.
Against the background of a sharp deterioration in the epidemiological situation since June 15, vaccination against coronavirus in Moscow has become mandatory for a number of groups of citizens (several other regions of the Russian Federation have followed the example). We are talking about about 60% of workers in trade, entertainment, education, transport, health care. Despite this, according to the statement of the capital’s authorities, as of June 22, the number of people who received at least the first dose of the vaccine was only slightly more than 2 million people. There are reports of discrimination against those who refuse to participate in the vaccination campaign.
At the same time, the Kremlin says that the information about the compulsory vaccination does not correspond to reality. “This is voluntary, because you can change jobs,” said the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Restrictive measures are being tightened in Moscow. So, since June 28, citizens will not be able to visit a cafe or restaurant without a special QR code for those vaccinated, who have had coronavirus and who have passed the PCR test. You can already get it on the mos.ru portal.
In total, 5 409 088 cases of infection have been recorded in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.
