The Norwegian government has decided to close its ports to Russian ships due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
News on state television NRK reports that the Norwegian government is imposing new sanctions against Russia, and in this regard, the country’s ports will be closed to Russian ships, and cargo transportation from Russia by sea will be prohibited.
Starting May 7, Norwegian ports will be closed to Russian vessels, while fishing vessels will not be subject to the ban.
Last month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during an online speech to the Norwegian parliament, asked the Norwegian government for air defense missiles and called for “closing their ports to Russian ships.”
On April 20, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense announced that it had transferred to Ukraine about 100 French-made Mistral anti-aircraft missile systems.
