President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has announced restrictions on the activities of 11 political parties in the country, in particular, some of them are accused of ties with the Russian state.
In a night video address, Zelensky listed several names, including the Opposition Platform For Life (OPZZ), one of the largest pro-Russian parties with representatives in the Ukrainian parliament.
Restrictions are also imposed on the Opposition Bloc, the Sharia Party, Nashi, the Left Opposition, the Union of Left Forces, the State, the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, the Socialist Party of Ukraine, the Socialists and the Volodymyr Saldo Bloc.
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine will take immediate measures to impose a ban that will apply during martial law in the country.
