Wine diplomacy: for the first time will be held in Ukraine Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting 2021

Portugal, one of the leading countries in the field of winemaking, in 2021 identified Ukraine as one of the most promising markets, where interest in Portuguese wines is steadily growing every year. According to Federico Falcao, President of the Association of the Portuguese Wine Sector ViniPortugal, in 2020 the export of their wines to Ukraine increased by 52% compared to 2019, and according to experts, this figure will rise to 117% by 2023.

The first big event in Ukraine, which will bring together more than 250 professionals of the wine sector, HoReCa representatives, media, influencers and wine lovers in one place, will be a circular tasting of Portuguese wines – Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting 2021 – which will take place on June 3, 2021 at the Parkovy.

For such a large-scale event, for the first time from Portugal to Ukraine, 29 wineries will come to personally show their products and present them to a rather demanding wine community.

The program of the large circular tasting includes a master class from Wines of Portugal Academy, in which the official wine teacher will tell guests about the peculiarities and uniqueness of Portuguese autochthonous grape varieties, the influence of climate, soil, blending skills and other factors that make Portuguese wines truly unique…

You can visit Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting 2021 by prior registration at the link. Detailed information about the event can be found on the official pages of the Wines of Portugal Ukraine brand on Facebook and Instagram.

The event will take place in compliance with all quarantine regulations that will be relevant at the time of its holding.

It should be noted that within the framework of the all-Ukrainian campaign aimed at acquainting Ukrainian experts with the wine market of Portugal, several educational and tasting events of the Wines of Portugal Academy have already taken place in Kiev this spring. Judging by the fact that there are many more people wishing to attend the tasting seminars than the organizers can accept, so we can safely say that Ukrainians are very interested in this format of events where you can not only feel the variety of Portuguese wines, but also gain new knowledge and plunge into the wine culture of the country.

In 2021, as part of the annual plan to promote the image of Portugal as a country occupying a leading position on the wine map of the world, the Wine Events Agency organizes events in Ukraine, representing the interests of Wines of Portugal, represented by ViniPortugal, the official Association of the Portuguese wine sector.
