The main aviation regulator of Ukraine, the State Aviation Service, issued an order to cancel the certificate of the operator of the new Ukrainian low-cost carrier Bees Airline. The argument was that the air carrier’s fleet consisted of less than two aircraft – the minimum required to maintain the certificate.
Before the beginning of the new phase of the war, Bees Airlines rapidly expanded the network of regular and charter flights from and around Ukraine and received four Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
However, a few days before Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, lessors recalled all low-cost airliners for storage in Europe.
