In a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kateryna Zakharieva praised the proposed steps to de-escalate tensions presented yesterday at the Foreign Affairs Council, saying that many of them have broad support.
Kateryna Zakharieva expressed her deep concern over Russia’s actions due to increased military activity around Ukraine’s borders and on the Crimean peninsula. The Minister reaffirmed his full support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, including its territorial waters.
Minister Zakharieva reaffirmed Bulgaria’s unwavering position in support of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
