The meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and Russia ended in the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul.
In addition, a meeting of the heads of delegations of the two countries was held.
The Ukrainian delegation is expected to make a statement to the press.
Addressing the participants in the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday morning that official Ankara adheres to a fair position on all international platforms, trying to take into account the interests, rights and positions of both sides (Russia and Ukraine). “You, as members of the delegations, bear a historic responsibility. The whole world is waiting for positive and encouraging news from you. Under the leadership of your leaders, you are forming the foundation for peace,” Erdogan said.
The Turkish leader stressed that Turkey is ready to make a feasible contribution to the promotion of the peace agenda between Kiev and Moscow.
This is the first face-to-face meeting of the parties since March 7, when negotiations were held in the Brest region of Belarus. After that, the delegations constantly communicated via video link.
