Egyptian authorities spoke about the clash between Russian and Ukrainian tourists

Clashes between Russian and Ukrainian tourists in Egyptian hotels have not been observed so far, the situation has remained stable since February 24. This information was announced in a statement dedicated to Russian and Ukrainian tourists by Major General Amr Hanafi, the governor of the Red Sea province, where the resort of Hurghada is located (it is the capital of this province).

He reminded that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities had sent a circular to all hotels to extend the stay of Ukrainian and Russian tourists if they could not return to their country due to the cancellation of flights. According to him, at the moment in the resorts of Hurghada and other resorts of the province there are 6226 Ukrainian tourists, all of them are distributed among hotels.

“Today, 18 Russian planes arrived at Hurghada International Airport. Everyone treats Russian tourists well. The Ukrainians are still in Egypt so that they can return later when the opportunity arises. We are waiting for a request from the embassy, but it has not arisen yet, “the governor said.

He also added that the supply of tourists from Ukraine was interrupted: on February 24, two flights from Ukraine were to arrive in Egypt, but for obvious reasons they did not arrive. Two export flights were also to be performed, but this did not happen either.

In addition, Mr. Hanafi particularly noted the clashes between tourists. “There were no problems between Russian and Ukrainian tourists in Hurghada. However, the Egyptian special services have been warned and are closely monitoring the situation, “the official added.
