On June 16, 2020, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevheniy Yenin held a meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in order to intensify political dialogue at high and the highest levels as well as trade and economic cooperation.
The counterparts noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and discussed preparations for holding a business meeting of Ukrainian and Turkmen business representatives in the near future.
In this regard, Yevheniy Yenin confirmed the interest of the Ukrainian side in the participation of Ukrainian companies in the implementation of business projects in Turkmenistan. The Deputy Minister reaffirmed that the support of exports and balanced trade is a vital task for both sides in the context of economic downturn due to the pandemic and expressed readiness to promote contacts between business representatives in order to take Ukrainian-Turkmen trade relations to a new level.
The sides also paid special attention to the issues of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations as well as in the field of education and culture.
