The Polish army announced today the start of military exercises involving thousands of NATO soldiers, reports the Associated Press.
These are regular exercises aimed at improving the security of the Alliance’s eastern flank. However, this year they are taking place against the backdrop of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Therefore, the Polish army has urged citizens not to distribute information or photos about convoys of military equipment that are expected to move across the country in the coming weeks.
She warned that any “reckless action” could harm NATO’s security. “Let’s remember the dangers,” the BTA quotes the words of the military.
The armed forces said that 18,000 troops from more than 20 countries are taking part in the Defender of Europe 2022 and Rapid Response 2022 exercises in Poland and eight other countries. The maneuvers are expected to last from 1 to 27 May.
