NATO has provided data showing the number of additional allied forces stationed on the eastern flank of the alliance.
As of March 16, most of the allied troops were sent to:
Poland – 10,500 troops from four countries.
3,300 fighters from five pact countries have been sent to Romania.
In Estonia, additional forces are 2,000 fighters
In Latvia – 1700
In Lithuania – 4000
Slovakia – 2100
In Bulgaria – 900
In Hungary – 800 soldiers
In the Baltics, the Allies provide air force, and in Poland and Slovakia – air defense.
NATO claims to have 40,000 troops under direct command and adds that there are 100,000 US troops in Europe.
130 aircraft and 140 Allied warships are on high alert.
Earlier in the pact, it was specified that the strengthening of the eastern flank was undertaken initially after the seizure of Crimea by Russia in 2014.
The alliance is expected to approve long-term plans for an external presence in June due to the changed security situation since the start of the war in Ukraine.
