NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday that the Western Alliance, not Moscow, would decide on Ukraine’s future accession.
“The 30 NATO allies must decide when Ukraine is ready for membership. No one else has the right to interfere in this process,” Stoltenberg told a news conference with a senior diplomat in Kyiv.
“Russia is now trying to restore some sphere of influence, where they are trying to decide what their neighbors can do,” Stoltenberg said.
