Pain in the muscles and joints – an early sign of infection with Omicron

Muscle and joint pain, especially in the back, lower back and shoulders, can be an early sign of Omicron infection.

These non-obvious symptoms are common among patients and can help identify Covid-19 early so treatment can begin, according to the National Health Service.

“People experience pain that can come and go after a while during recovery. Some also experience strange or altered sensations such as tingling or tingling, weakness in the arms or legs,” the experts said.

According to the ZOE Symptom Study, the largest application for studying and monitoring SARS-CoV-2 symptoms, such pain can occur early in the infection. They usually last an average of two to three days, but can last longer, depending on the age of the patient.

“They usually last an average of two to three days, but can last longer with age. In children, pain lasts up to four days, in adults 16-35 years old – up to five days, in adults 35-65 years old – up to seven days, and for people over 65 years old – up to eight days, ”say the scientists participating in the project.
