According to the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, the peak of the epidemic season of dengue fever has begun in this country.
Over 15,000 cases of dengue fever have been reported in Vietnam in the past 10 days alone. In total, 92,000 cases of this disease have recently been identified, 36 of which are fatal. The number of severe cases of the disease is 3.7 times higher than last year.
Most often, cases of fever are detected in the south – in the most popular tourist part of the country, and several provinces in the center.
As of the end of June, 21,750 cases of dengue fever were recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, which is 181% more than in the same period last year.
Recall that dengue fever is a viral infection transmitted by the bite of Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. Among the symptoms of the disease are fever, severe headache, and muscle and joint pain.
Tourists are advised to spend the night in rooms with mosquito nets on the windows, use repellents, and wear long-sleeved clothes.
