From December 16, 2021, changes will come into force regarding border crossing for citizens arriving in the Italian Republic from outside the European Union (including from Ukraine). Thus, according to the updated rules, Ukraine is included in the list of countries on the “E” list, which provides for a ban on non-compulsory travel of Ukrainian citizens, including for tourism.
Exceptions are citizens of Ukraine who are:
– holders of a residence permit in Italy;
– citizens who enter the country for proven reasons of work, study, treatment or absolute necessity.
However, if there are good reasons, persons who have a confirmed and stable personal relationship with Italian citizens may be allowed to enter the country.
At the entrance, citizens who fall into these categories must:
• fill in the online sanitary control form Passenger Locator Form (https://app.euplf.eu/#/);
• present a certificate (certificate) of negative molecular testing (done no more than 72 hours before arrival) or rapid testing for Covid-19 (made no more than 24 hours before arrival);
• activate health surveillance procedures in medical institutions according to the area of residence and undergo 10 days of self-isolation, after which repeat testing to confirm a negative result (molecular or rapid test).
IMPORTANT: It is forbidden to enter Italy for tourists who have lived or been in transit in the last 14 days in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia and Esvatini.
Detailed information on the current rules of entry into the Italian Republic, information on the rules of self-isolation and exclusion from them is available on the official website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the link:
