Italian taxi drivers announced a two-day strike across the country

Italian taxi drivers on Tuesday launched a 48-hour nationwide strike against Article 10 of the government’s competition bill, the BTA reported.

They say the bill’s deregulation would create unfair competition from ride-sharing web services.

Taxi drivers from across the country took part in a protest in Rome’s central Piazza Venezia on Tuesday.
