An elephant trampled and killed a 70-year-old woman in India. Then he appeared at her funeral, pulled her out of the funeral pyre, and trampled her again.
The incident occurred in the western Indian state of Odisha, reports dailymail.
Maya Murmu, 70, was following the water when she came across a wild elephant. He escaped from the nearest reserve. Although she was rushed to hospital, the woman died of her injuries.
In the evening, her body was laid at the funeral pyre according to custom. On Saturday night, as her family and friends performed the last funeral rites of the deceased, the same elephant appeared, pulled out Murma’s body and trampled it, then threw it away.
The frightened relatives fled the scene and were able to complete the funeral only after the elephant left.
