The Turkish hotel Castival Hotel Side has stopped accepting tourists with vouchers from the tour operator Fun & Sun (ex-TUI Russia). According to a representative of one of the travel agencies, on July 30, their clients, as well as many other tourists, were not settled in this hotel and were transferred to another hotel without explanation.
Judging by other reports, the holders of tour operator vouchers who arrived in Turkey the day before were in the same position.
The company Fun & Sun left the situation without comment.
The sudden break in relations, according to observers, may be related to the consequences of sanctions against the former owner of TUI Russia Alexei Mordashov. At the end of April, the Turkish company TUI Tantur, which received clients of a Russian tour operator in Turkey, warned hotels that it was canceling bookings in the interests of TT Travel LLC (the Russian legal entity of Fun & Sun and TUI Russia) and freezing prepayments since TUI Tantur belongs to the European TUI and forced to follow the general sanctions trend. According to one version, overbooking could have occurred at the hotel due to the large influx of tourists.
