The first response has been given to the pressing question of how much more expensive holidays in Turkish resorts will be in the summer of 2025. The answer came from Bülent Uysal, President of the Fethiye Tourist Hoteliers Association, representing the popular Fethiye resort, which is also well-known among Ukrainian tourists. He reported that hotel prices in the Dalaman region are expected to increase by 7-8%. However, if the exchange rates remain as they are now, hoteliers may face challenges.
According to him, last season all hotels in the Fethiye region were fully booked, but the results were disappointing. “Nearly all our properties in the region were fully booked from July 15 to October 15. However, we were unable to achieve the expected profitability due to rising costs and a low exchange rate,” he stated.
The number of tourists arriving at Dalaman Airport in 2024 increased by 8%, and the Turkish tourism industry is expecting at least a 5% increase for the upcoming season. “Tour operators and travel agencies haven’t yet finalized their plans, but we predict an increase of about 10% in the number of international guests visiting the region. According to our estimates, foreign tourist numbers will rise by 5%,” he added.
He also emphasized that foreign tour operators expect a price increase of no more than 7-8%, which could have implications for hoteliers. “If the exchange rate doesn’t improve, the 2025 season will likely be very challenging in terms of costs,” he concluded.
