The high demand from foreign tourists and the long weekend in Turkey in honor of the holiday of Eid al-Adha have led to the fact that there are no rooms left in luxury hotels. The general director of one of the most fashionable hotels in Turkey, Nirvana Hotels, Korhan Alshan, voiced this assessment of the situation to the Turkish media.
According to him, during the holiday period, all hotels were fully booked already 15 days before their start. A large number of requests from foreign tourists and domestic demand, which increased for the long weekend, led to the fact that many hotels “stopped”.
“There is no space left in many facilities. The growing needs of the foreign market combined with the Kurban Bayram period filled the facilities almost 15 days ago,” the expert said.
He also noted that approximately 60% of employment in Nirvana Hotels facilities was accounted for by foreign tourists. Accordingly, 40% were occupied by tourists from the domestic market, that is, from Turkey.
