New mountain resort Pereh opens in northern Israel

Built on the ruins of a French customs house from the 20th century, the mountain resort of Pereh appears to guests as an innovative boutique resort based on principles that combine relaxation, nature, and gastronomy.

Pereh Mountain Resort is a boutique hotel with 27 rooms and suites located in the green belt of northern Israel.

Pereh, which means “wild” in Hebrew, is a private estate located on a mountain range overlooking the mountains and valleys. With expansive open spaces, breathtaking scenery, and top-notch local cuisine, the resort combines the best of the Galilee region and the Golan Heights. It features large terraces, orchards, an outdoor infinity pool with hot tub and bar, an inviting spa, Rouge Restaurant with Chef Roy Dory, a wine cellar, and an event and meeting space.

Owner Leo Glaser has preserved and restored the original buildings, including two Bauhaus buildings that house suites and garden rooms. All work was carried out under the supervision of the Israeli Nature Conservation Authority.

The interiors were created by designers Dana Leitersdorf and Tamara Glazer, who used mainly local natural materials, such as basalt stone and natural mineral plaster, in buildings and furniture. The spacious rooms and suites have been restored to look like the originals, with centuries-old wooden floors, carved stone walls, and high ceilings.

Pereh Mountain Resort’s Rouge Restaurant is led by chef Roy Dori, who moved to northern Israel after working in the kitchens of Tel Aviv’s renowned top restaurants Mashya and L28. Dori uses the finest local ingredients, partnered with small producers from nearby villages, to offer a seasonal menu in a contemporary style.

Pereh Mountain Resort boasts a wine cellar that stocks the finest local wines from the Galilee region and the Golan Heights, including private label wines bottled exclusively for the hotel. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 16:30 to 18:00 the hotel’s sommelier conducts tastings for tourists. The resort has its cozy spa with signature treatments such as Hot Lava Stone Massage using local ointments, essential oils, medicinal teas, and soaps.

The hotel is well equipped for business meetings and conferences for up to 55 people, as well as weddings and private celebrations. There are spacious outdoor areas and gardens, conference rooms and lounges, as well as a sun terrace overlooking the Galilee.

Co-owner of the complex Yishai Malka hand-selected various paintings, photographs, and sculptures by contemporary Israeli artists at the Zemack Gallery in Tel Aviv. They will be displayed throughout the hotel as a living and authentic art gallery.
