Hotels in the Red Sea resorts in Egypt have decided to increase security measures in connection with the recent shark attacks on tourists.
So, hotel workers are ordered to avoid any activity that attracts sharks. They are required to warn guests not to throw food into the water, as this may attract predators.
Information stands should be installed on the beaches and pontoons.
Fishing in hotel areas will be completely banned.
Swimming areas will be marked with buoys on the beaches, and all recreation areas will be equipped with lifeguards.
In the event of a shark appearing in the coastal zone, an immediate ban on swimming should be introduced on the beaches.
As for diving, tourists will be banned from diving alone. And snorkeling will be possible only inside the lagoons and also under the supervision of experienced instructors.
According to the latest scientists, on July 2, when two foreign women became victims of a shark near the Sahl Hasheesh resort in Hurghada, people were attacked by a mako shark, a large (up to 5 m long) and fast fish. She still hasn’t been caught.
