Egyptian resorts are unequivocally counting on the return of Europeans who missed the holiday, who are rapidly removing the “cute” restrictions. First of all, in Egypt there were links to the German and Dutch markets – this will fill the hotels of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh 100%. At the same time, such a dense tourist flow in Egyptian resorts threatens Ukrainian tourists with overbooking, that is, the lack of rooms – especially in the “German” and other popular European hotels.
In a statement to Al-Watan, Sameh Gomaa, vice chairman of the Hurghada hotel group, said that the hotel occupancy rate is currently close to 50%. At the same time, it is expected to grow rapidly in April – the main reasons for this will be the decisions of European governments – primarily Germany, Britain and the Netherlands to lift the “cunning” bans.
In Egypt, it is reasonable to expect that European tourists will be drawn to the usual places of rest with all the intensity of delayed demand.
Accordingly, this promises problems for Ukrainian tourists. According to experts, the hotels are already counting on the full return of German and Dutch tourists by April, which is likely to start overbooking – which threatens problems for Ukrainian tourists.
Although tour operators have paid for the rooms, practice shows that with “hard” overbooking it does not save – hotels often “maneuver” at the expense of Ukrainian and Russian tourists, who are trying to “throw” in the worst rooms. This is especially true of the most popular hotels, and especially those that were previously imprisoned by Germans and other Europeans.
