A technological breakthrough in international tourism is expected next year

Virtual reality will become one of the means of the vacation planning, and this technological breakthrough will take place in the coming year. This opinion was presented by the aggregator Booking.com. According to his estimates, 43% of tourists want to use virtual reality to plan their vacations. However, tourists will still not go completely into virtuality, and it will not interfere with traditional travel.

“Travel will seriously enter the three-dimensional virtual space of the ever-evolving metauniverse in 2023,” the aggregator’s experts assure. Moreover, more than a third (35%) of travelers want to go even on a multi-day trip in virtual reality.

However, even though “the metaworld will be more than just a “try before you buy” offer and “travelers will no longer be limited by physics”, but will be able to receive “tactile feedback” in the virtual, it will not interfere with ordinary tourism . More than 60% said that virtual reality does not bring enough satisfaction and after a “technological” trip, they will choose a regular tour.

Aryan Dake, Booking.com’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said: “If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that travel shouldn’t be taken for granted. Travel becomes a way to find shameless moments of happiness and escape from reality to confront the harsh realities of our news feeds.”
