On May 9, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck central France. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
According to seismologists, the epicenter of the tremors was located 50 km northwest of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, which is home to about 138,000 people. The source lay at a depth of 5 km.
There have been no reports of casualties, injuries or damage yet.
