A number of European politicians have proposed awarding Volodymyr Zelensky the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. This is stated in their letter, published on a special site nobelprizeforukraine.
Current and former politicians, MEPs, have called on the Norwegian Nobel Committee to reconsider the procedure for nominating for the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize and to extend the deadline for applications to include Volodymyr Zelensky in the list.
The press service of the Norwegian Nobel Committee reported that 251 people and 92 organizations have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize this year. The Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 was awarded to Russian journalist and editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta Dmitry Muratov and Filipino journalist Maria Reza.
