The European Commission proposes to extend for another year the validity of the digital certificate of the EU on vaccination or previous disease COVID-19. This was stated by the official representative of the EC Christian Wiegand.
He recalled that the certificate expires at the end of June, but it is proposed to extend it, since it is not known how the epidemiological situation in Europe will develop during the year.
According to the EC representative, the certificate proved to be a useful tool, which is still used in some countries. He made the travel of EU citizens safer and supported the tourism industry in Europe. In total, more than 1.7 billion such certificates have been issued.
