In Europe, the validity of the vaccination certificate will be reduced

In Europe, the validity of the vaccination certificate will be reduced – this document will be valid for nine months (currently 12 months).

The European Commission, by a decision of December 21, 2021, updated the rules regarding digital COVID vaccination certificates in a pandemic. From February 1, 2022, the validity period of such documents will be reduced to 270 days.

It is noted that the decision is based on available scientific data, as well as on objective criteria. In particular, according to the recommendation of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), revaccination should be carried out six months after the completion of the full vaccination cycle.

The certificate will be valid for another three months, during which citizens must receive a booster dose of vaccination.
