Egypt’s ports of Alexandria and Deheil, which lie along the Mediterranean Sea, were closed on Wednesday due to bad weather, according to the Alexandria Port Authority.
The ports are some of the largest in Egypt, and each can carry a maximum of 1 million units equivalent.
Strong winds and dust storms caused a 400-meter container ship to run aground on Tuesday morning in the Egyptian Suez Canal, blocking the passage of ships.
Four Egyptian Red Sea ports were closed on Tuesday, also due to weather conditions, and all but the port of Ain Sokhna are now reopened.
