The United States is lifting travel restrictions for international students

On Monday, the United States lifted travel restrictions for students from China, Iran, Brazil, South Africa, the Schengen area, the United Kingdom and Ireland who plan to study in the United States later this year.

A State Department statement said students from those countries attending an academic program beginning Aug. 1 or later could enter the United States without applying for a National Interest (NIE) application within 30 days of starting their academic studies.
