TikTok has changed the rules for content that violates company policy

The short video sharing app TikTok has said it will use more automation to remove videos from its platform that violate community principles.

Currently, videos uploaded to the platform go through technological tools that allow you to recognize and mark any potential violations, which are then considered by a member of the security team. If a violation is detected, the video is deleted and the user receives a message, according to TikTok.

The company, owned by ByteDance, added that over the next few weeks, it will automatically remove certain types of content that violate policies regarding low security, nudity and sexual activity, violent and graphic content, and illegal activity and regulated goods.

This will be in addition to the removal confirmed by the security command.

The company said it would help its security team focus on highly contextual and subtle areas such as bullying and harassment, misinformation and hate behavior.

TikTok also added that a warning will be sent to the app for the first violation. However, in case of repeated violations, the user will be notified, and the account can also be deleted without the possibility of recovery.

The change is due to the fact that social networks, including Facebook and TikTok, are being criticized for spreading hate speech and misinformation around the world on their platforms.
