Chinese scientists have installed an automatic weather station on Everest at an altitude of more than 8800 meters. This was reported by China Central Television.
The station is the tallest device of its kind in the world.
It will replace a similar device at an altitude of 8430 meters, which was installed on the southern slope of Everest by the US-British expedition in 2019.
