Bulgaria’s chief state sanitary doctor, Angel Kuncha, said more and more countries were reporting an increase in cases of the new Delta coronavirus.
“The forecast for a new wave is not exaggerated. It all depends on how events unfold around us and how we behave. There are definitely facts that worry us – the continued spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus. We are closely monitoring the situation and, if necessary, will take measures, “said Angel Kuncha, noting that countries with high morbidity will fall into the red zone and their residents will not be admitted to Bulgaria.
According to him, such a measure could be introduced for Russia. If the Russians get into the red zone, they will not be allowed to enter Bulgaria at the border.
“I know how difficult it will be to take such a restrictive measure, because we are all expecting a normal tourist season. But it is more important to protect the country from additional imports of new options, “the chief state sanitary doctor of Bulgaria explained the situation.
