Austria imposes strict rules on entry

Austria will introduce the so-called 2G + rule on December 20 – only vaccinated and sick people will be allowed to enter, and only with a PCR test done in a maximum of 72 hours. This was stated by the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

Exceptions are made for pregnant women, schoolchildren, employees of international organizations arriving on business, transit passengers and those who have been vaccinated against vaccination. They will only need a PCR test.

Revaccinated people may not take the test when entering Austria, they need to show a certificate.

Citizens of Austria and other EU countries who have not been vaccinated or have contracted the coronavirus must register electronically on site and comply with a 10-day quarantine, which can be completed in five days by PCR.
