Argentina’s National Communications Organization (EnaCom) has imposed three huge fines on TV presenter Viviana Canosa on Channels 9 and A24 for “threatening public health” in its television program in connection with a new coronavirus pandemic. The first sanction against Kanoz was that she swallowed chlorine dioxide (a disinfectant) alive and said that it “saturates the blood with oxygen, it’s something divine. I don’t recommend it, but look what I’m doing, “said the host of the program, which aired on August 5, 2020 on Channel 9.
The other two fines, according to the publication, were related to April 2021 and the closed TV company A24. At the time, she mentioned suspicions of vaccines against COVID-19, including an interview with Dr. Marcelo Perett, who denied the effectiveness of immunizers.

The fines were announced last Wednesday, with the support of a majority of ENaCom board members, with the exception of director Silvan Judice, who voted against, Clarín reports.
Although the majority supported Vivian Canos’ punishment for harming public health, Judice, quoted by Clarín, said sanctioning the “opinion” of the presenter or interviewee was an attack on “freedom of expression.”
